Heather Wertheimer

Heather Wertheimer is a singer songwriter, recording artist, and meditation teacher. Heather and her husband Benjy have led devotional chanting internationally since 2002 as the duo Shantala. They released 9 albums together and are some of the top-streaming artists in their genre. Heather’s debut CD with Shantala, Church of Sky, was named by New Age Retailer as one of the top 10 albums of the year. Prior to becoming a touring musician, Heather worked for more than 15 years as a therapist in the fields of addiction, mental health, and body-centered therapy. She was a yoga teacher for 10 years. Heather has a lifelong background of activism that includes employment with the Committee for a Sane Nuclear Policy, volunteering with the Sacred Earth Coalition (a multi-cultural consortium of artists), studying permaculture design, creating a song video and short film for racial justice, and participating in Brown Hope activities since May of 2025.
