Announcing Brown Hope's
Official Kickoff Party, June 20th!

6–8:30pm at Unite Oregon (700 N Killingsworth St)

Just three months ago, Brown Hope existed only as an idea.

What started as a small flame, has already bloomed into an international conversation.

Although we are still small – we know that our ideas are mighty. Please join Brown Hope as we formally introduce ourselves to the Portland community.

Our official nonprofit kickoff will happen Tuesday, June 19th (JUNETEENTH!) from 6–8:30pm at Unite Oregon. People of all races, ages, genders, and faiths are invited to enjoy a night of food, music, and community. Free childcare will also be provided.

RSVP Here!

We'll be elevating the leadership of Black, Brown, and Indigenous people, and announcing the upcoming expansion of our community programs, including the Brown Hope Prize and the People's Assembly.

Our guest speakers will be Metro Councilor-Elect Juan Carlos Gonzalez and Two-Spirit Activist Candi Brings Plenty, followed by a presentation by BrownHope's Lead Advocate, cameron whitten. Musical performance will be provided by Claire Elizabeth Grace: https://www.claireelizabethgrace.com/

If you're unable to attend, please consider making a donation here: donorbox.org/brownhope

Reparations Power Hour, June 20th!

Our June Reparations Power Hour will be 6–8pm at Solae's Lounge. Solae's is ages 21 and over. We'll have volunteer childcare hosted at Townshend's Tea, down the street. Contact me if you'd like to attend and have childcare provided. RSVP or donate for the event here.

Following the unexpected splash we made in the international media, we created this FAQ page to address some common mischaracterizations that have publicly appeared about our event: brownhope.org/reparations-faq
